getting dimensions of mesh

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to copy a mesh for an x amount of times on top of each other. I already have an working import mesh script but the problem is I don't know how to find the dimensions via Maxscript. Can someone show me a simple example on how to get the dimensions (width, length, height) of an editable poly/mesh?

Thank you kindly in advance 🙂

If you are interested in the dimension in the world space, you can simply use the .min and .max properties, for example:

width = ($.max - $.min).x

If you want a local aligned dimensions instead, there's the nodeLocalBoundingBox method - or a similar nodeGetBoundingBox method for arbitrary transforms.
