Why cant I connect these 2 vertices?

I cannot connect the two vertices shown in the picture. Can someone help me? Thanks in advance.22.PNG

Hi,

 

The vertex in the bottom right(inside the red circle)  is already shared between two segments,

3DS Max will not allow a third segment to be welded to it, which will create a T shape.

What you can do is to break this vertex into two vertices by selecting it and click the Break button,

Now you have two vertices each one of them is connected with one segment only(naked segment),

And now you can use the Connect tool.
