Where is Create topology?

I just wrote a whole post, which just disappeared because of this Forum's lousy UX.

So in short: I have the ribbon with all tabs, but I still can't find Create Topology. Where is it?

And why can't I access it without the ribbon? The Ribbon is terrible UX, copied from Microsoft Office 2000. 3DS MAX should work without the ribbon.

See attachment.

Select an editablePoly object or edit Poly-modifier. Hit the [x] key and type 'topology' and select 'Topology Interface'

On the ribbon you can find it there:

Why ? It`s a legit UI framework component provided by MS that you can use in your own applications:

He, just kidding. I don`t like it either!

Thank you very much!

In the meantime I solved it by resetting the whole interface. Which seems very strange, but somehow the ribbon got a different appearance after that, with the correct modeling tools menu...

I feel like I'm missing out on good stuff because the ribbon is so clunky and I have it on my other monitor because it would take up too much screen space if I docked it.

I don't get why there is a 'pin' icon which is meant to 'pin' a drop open, but as soon as you click off the mesh you are modifying, it just un pins. I'm sure the drop down menu should remain OPEN?

I'm not sure why it was put in, or the devs just didn't understand how the pin is meant to work, or it just went untested for 11 years since it was introduced. I find things like this frustrating as all new functions should be tested, and they're obviously not.
