Hello-
I have some models that I received in a STEP format and when I bring them into max, I get triangulated meshes. The problem is, I need them to be quad meshes. Other than remodeling from scratch or using a retopology tool and making the model by hand, does anyone know of an automated way of making the conversion?
Thanks

Give "quadrify" modifier a go. Make a back up first. I doubt you'll be satisfied by quadrify alone, probably re-topology tools will also be helpful.
Hello @Anonymous,
@bob.bernstein has a good suggestion there, and also great is the Quadrify on the Ribbon. I find it works exceptionally well for most things.
