Spline selection set projection onto standard primitive objects surface.

Capture.PNG

I have this type of situation where above the standard primitive torus with no modifiers in the modifier list yet I would like to project onto the surface of the torus the vertexes of all the splines (hopefully all at one operation if possible). Does anyone know a simple way to do that with 3D Studio Max?

Thank You!

You could use Compound Objects/ShapeMerge.  It's hard to tell from the image but it might be more efficient to use ShapeMerge on one spline, detach after projecting it and then use polar array.

I set up a shapemerge however I ran into some technical difficulties in selecting the torus as an operand. The functionality to do some seems somehow disabled or I don't know what keys to use. Thanks!

It's pretty straightforward, select the torus, then pick ShapeMerge, Pick Shape and click on the splines.  The arrows point to the projected line.
