I have this modelled sphere with highly visible polys/quads .. I've tried adding auto-smooth, under the Edit-Poly stack.. I have welded all vertices & even attempted Turbo/Mesh Smooth.. nothing works!?.. any ideas anyone?...

- some parts of mesh have explicit normals

- mesh has different IDs with multisub material applied

Can you please recommend a way to remove such explicit normals?.

Assuming once removed, would be somewhat a work around??..

If my guess is correct, this should help:
- apply EditNormals modifier

- select all normals and press Reset
