Smart extrusion not working

Hello everyone,

i wanted to use the smart extrusion function, because im very excited about it. But it does not work for me.

When i shift + drag the polygon, it is cloning the polygon instead of extrude it. 

 

What am i missing? I would be thankful about every advice!

You can check its setting  and set it and then  use drag and Shift.
