Slate Material Editor Nodes not connecting

Hi All, 

I need help working out why my Slate Material Editor is not working. I have not set up anything differently or changed any settings. 

I am trying to connect a Bitmap into the Map node on a Falloff Map. Everything works fine until I disconnect the map to try something different, after that I cannot connect anything. It will then not allow me to connect anything up. 

Not sure what I can do, I've tried creating a new max document but the problem continues.

Thanks for posting! Try resetting 3ds Max: Rest 3ds Max to Default Preferences

Just checking in to see if you had a chance to reset the preferences? If that does not resolve the issue it could be something in that specific scene file or possibly with the installation.
