Dear Autodesk Support,

I am currently facing an issue while using 3ds Max, and I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving it.
I am currently following a course on Udemy, where the instructor demonstrates a technique involving the selection of vertices, followed by a Shift + Drag operation. According to the instructor, this action should create new vertices that are connected to the original ones, resulting in the creation of edges and faces between them. However, when I attempt to replicate this process in 3ds Max versions 2018, 2021, and 2024, I am only able to clone edges, and the vertices do not connect as expected.
I have thoroughly searched the forums and attempted various solutions, but I have been unable to resolve the issue. I have also created a video demonstrating the problem I am encountering, as well as a clip from the instructor's video for comparison.
I kindly request your guidance and support in understanding why this functionality is not working as expected in my versions of 3ds Max. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
Osama Ak.
