Select polys by multi-material sub-material name?

This question applies to objects with Multi-Materials applied.

I'm transitioning to Max from Modo where I constantly use a feature that lets me quickly select the polygons of an object via the material name tag associated with those polys.  Click on the material name and click "select the polys on an object with this material tag" and voila, those polys are selected.

In Max this seems to involve the Poly Select modifier and clicking on the material i.d. #.  But I have to go into the material editor and scroll around and find the material i.d. for those polys.  Is there a faster way?  Is there a way to select polys (not objects) via their name?

Thanks.

Hi Mate. You can select the poly group id of an object very easily.

In modifier panel go down to poly group > select poly group > enter the poly group id.

Hope this will help.

Thanks and Regards,
