Hi,
I'm an architecture student and I'm trying to model a specific site in 3ds Max. Currently I have openned sketchup, done geo-locate to get my site, and exported to 3ds Max but doing that
My first issue is that the site model is really angular and I'm not sure how to add more detail and vertex's to the model to make it more realistic and smooth. Would it be better idea to try modelling the island from scratch?
My second request is could someone explain how I could flatted out certain sections to create roads and paths?
Any help or pointers would be very VERY much appreciated!

For the road, look into Conform Compound Object:
