Problems with importing .obj to 3ds Max

Hello everyone! So I've been downloading some 3d models from sketchfab and some of the are in .obj format but when I try to import them to 3ds Max I only get a very wierd shape. I thought maybe it was one of the models but then I downloaded another one and I get the same result when importing. I'm attaching the 3d model that I downlaoded and what I'm actually getting in 3ds max with the importing settings. I would appreciate your help in solving this! Thanks for your attention everyone!

Hi @Anonymous

Try unchecking "Retriangulate Polygons" and checking "Import as single mesh".  I was able to import the same .obj from sketchfab with these settings or even with just dragging the .obj in a max viewport.

Thank you for your time but unfortunately that did't work, however the best way to go around it is to import it to a software like blender and then export it as fbx. that did the trick. I've seen quite a few people with the same problem but is rare when it happens. Thanks again!

What version of 3ds max are you using?   I am working with Max 2020, and like I said, dragging and dropping the .obj from Sketchfab works without any issues.    It would be useful to know if this is a max version issue or not.
