problem with 2 polygons

Hi,

I am quit new to modeling so my question could be a bit stupid but this is it. I know that when you are modeling and there are 2 polygons crossing each other or lay on the same place/coordinates, this can give problems in a game. How do you call this problem?

And is there a way to search for such polygons in 3Ds Max?

I found out that what I was looking for, is called Z-fighting.

But is this mistake always very obvious during modeling or is it possible that you created this problem without knowing? And is there then a specific way to search for it in 3DsMax?

In most cases you see those polygons flicker in the viewport.
And there is a way to display them: click on the little plus-sign in the top left corner of your perspective viewport - under xView there are some useful features, e.g. Overlapping Faces.
