Placing pivot in the center of an object?

Is there an easy solution for selecting an option that will place the pivot in the center of an object?

Edit > Transform Toolbox. This will open up a dialog with quite a few tools for transforms. In the Align Pivot section, if you want all XYZ to be centered, just click the Center button. If you want it to be permanent, click the R next to Set Size in the Size section. This applies a Reset XForm and collapses all in one click. The Transform Toolbox is very handy, set a shortcut for it.

Or you can go the hierarchy tab, turn on Affect Pivot Only, then Center to Object. Then do a Reset XForm if you want it to be permanent.

In addition to all the good info @PropChad provided you can also hot key "center pivot" if your goal is to find the quickest/fewest mouse clicks to centering the pivot on an object.   90% of the time all I want is the pivot to be set the center of the object and this does the trick.

Customize User Interface > keyboard  or in max 2020 Customize > Hotkey editor
