Lost AutoCad Model Files Links After Merging Into Scene in 3ds Max 2017

Hello Community:

I merged my different AutoCAD file models into a new scene in 3ds Max 2017 for a project. After merging all files, the links were broken.

Is there a way to reset them to be linked again in the scene? I did this because there were some corrupted elements in the original 3ds Max 2017 file.

Please review and let me know the best possible way.

Thanks.

Hi,

Go to Reference, Asset Tracking

1.jpg

Highlight the file that is missing, go to Path menu and click Set Path

Note: if you know that all your missing files have the same new location, you can highlight them all at the

Same time and use the Set Path

Now in the Set Path dialog click the path button, locate the new path and click Use Path

Miled, thanks. I waited to reply in that I found out from Autodesk today that when you merge files into a scene and a user is utilizing AutoCad models, the links to the models are lost. It is similar to binding files in AutoCad into one file without any record of the X-referenced files. They stated that Autodesk will be working on a solution for this in upcoming 3ds Max versions. Thank you for your assistance.
