Is there any way I could delete a layer with objects?

Also when I'm adding my selection into new layer, why it doesnt have a rename functionality when I clicked it like a window will popup and you can name it automatically rather than right clicking the layer and selecting rename which consume time.

To delete a layer and all its objects, rt-click it and then select "Delete Layers And all Children"
