insert vertex into edge

Hi , I'm trying to insert a number of vertices along an edge, and I'm not sure if it's working correctly or not because when I zoom right down into the mesh and look at the mesh, there are some problems with edges meeting up exactly. I'm not sure if this is becauae iof innacuracies with Max rendering the model at such high zoom, or if it's something I'm doing wrong. I'm selecting vertex in sub object mode, then hitting create, making sure the snap toggle and snap to vertex and edge are on.

Hi. It could be a number of things, but it's hard to say without seeing it. Could you post screen grabs, preferably with edges visible and/or upload a sample scene showing the problem? Scene files must be zipped for forum attachment. Thanks.

A sample scene would definitely help. In the mean time try Edge sub-object level and click the big Insert Vertex button (top of the Edit Edges rollout). Turn on Snaps (to Edge/Segment) if you like. The advantage (of being in Edge mode) is that the cursor will change when over an edge (as a guide) and you actually cannot create a vertex anywhere but on an edge.

My main problem with this is the accuracy of the vertices being displayed at high zoom levels. If you go to Edges in sub obj mode there's an insert vertex button right at the top of the panel...which was handy :-D...I ended up inserting the vertices that way. Does that help? You need to toggle snap and then snap to edges too when you add them.
