How to snap a polygon surface on to another surface?

I have used the snap tool in a number of iterations (snap to vertex, etc) for a while and it is fantastic. I know if I right click on the “snap toggle” tool, I will get a “Grid and Snap Setting” menu where I can choose “Face”, but how do you choose the face on the surface of a poly you want to move and have it snap to the surface of another polygon?

I am sure it is simple, but I am not having much luck figuring it out. Any help would be much appreciated.

I should clarify that this is with a 3DsMax 2013 version, so there is no "smart object placement" tool?

Try Tools, Align, Normal Align.
