Help with UV unwrapping

This could be something very simple to fix, but I am not too experienced with 3ds Max in this area.
Below is what I would like for the model to look like in 3ds Max. I've gotten the look, but it doesn't look clean. At that point I assume I did something wrong at the start, so that's why I am asking here.

On importing, the UV looks like this in the Unwrap UV Modifier:

To me, it just seems as if the UV's are all compressed or something into that small, red square. This is how it looks with no changes made:

May someone please tell me what to do after this? maybe some ideas or suggestions? Thanks.
I can provide the model if needed or any other media.

Your UVs seems to be corrupted in some way,

You can avoid it selecting all faces in face subobject mode and adding a quick planar.  From there all the edit UVWs tools will be available: seam creation, peel etc.

Then you need to edit the UVs to achieve what you want, that I don't know as I don't have the texture or know the way you need to map it.

Thank you. At least I know what is wrong and where to start now. I actually wanted to map the texture as the first picture I showed you there.

Just tried it. You know, that actually foxed it with the right material in the game I am trying it in. Thanks!
