Compound Radius / Profile

I'm looking for advice on how to tackle the following (photo attached). In real life this is effectively a bunch of material hung from the top radius (shown in photo), gathered together by the lower/middle radius (akin to window drapes that are gathered back by a drawstring), and then end on the floor flared out as shown by the lowest radius. I've attempted sweep, loft, and lathe but none seem to get quite there due to the radius complexity and the need to really tweak the curves along the line. Thanks.

Try experimenting with the squeeze and taper modifiers after lathing the profile.

Thanks for bringing your question to the forums! I'm curious if you saw @leeminardi's suggestion of using the Lathe, squeeze and taper modifiers, and if so, did the suggestion help you get the desired result?

 

I would add that if you are planning to create a cloth mesh from this shape, you could utilize the cloth simulation tools within 3DS Max to get a more natural effect. Here is a video that outlines the basic cloth modifier settings.

Hi there, thanks for the suggestions. I found that using Loft along with it's Deform Fit option provided the best results (most accurate and flexible for specific adjustments). I began by lofting a half cylinder along a straight spline and then used two profile splines to define the deformations on X and Y. Worked perfectly.
