Can 3Ds Max import vector formats with arcs and beziers, without converting them to straight lines?

Hello.

Built-in spline editor features are very weak, mildly saying, so I'm creating most of my spline work in Corel Draw.

However, there is a huge issue - beziers and arcs do not get imported as beziers and arcs but are converted into very jagged straight lines. I tried the following formats: DWG, DXF, AI

DWG and DXF have mentioned issue and "spline interpolation" simply does not works, because there is no data to interpolate - curves are converted into straight lines when exporting the files.

AI format has same "blockyness", however, for it, interpolation setting works, but it has the different issue - scale of the spline is changed and there's no way to restore the original dimensions. This is not Corel Draw issue, because that exported file can be opened in Illustrator and everything will be ok.

I also tried to use SVG importer to 3Ds max, but it failed - imports garbage instead of curves.

So I'm interested, whenever there's another vector format which can be imported into 3ds max, maintaining beziers and arcs, without converting them to straight lines?

Honestly, I don't see a problem here. Illustrator (-8) AI files are imported correctly as bezier curves, with all handles.

If you want a smoother look, activate Adaptive Interpolation.

You could also convert the splines to NURBS.

If scaling is a problem, set 3ds max' System Units to Millimeters before importing.

But finally, 3ds max is a polygon modeller, so everything has be converted to polygons - sooner or later.
