Blender tutorial problem

Hi,

 

I am trying to follow a Blender tutorial in 3ds Max. The tutorial is about the Soborg Chair by Fredericia. So far I have finished one chair leg. My problem is the chair seat. In Blender when you apply a Subsurf modifier to a plane the edges of the plane get rounder with each iteration. In 3ds Max, however, I don't know how to achieve this effect. When I apply a Turbosmooth or Meshsmooth to a plane nothing happens. I tried modeling the chair with the FFD deformer but I could not trace the contours of the chair seat exactly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.ProgressProgress

One option you have is by using the OpenSubdiv

 

Then on the OpenSubdiv Controls - Vertex Boundary - Interp Edgessub.jpg
