Axis position is always at 0

2016 - sometimes axis controls are just zero, even if the object is blatantly not at zero.

Needs a restart to correct it. blah blah. etc etc

 

 

... why do I bother even posting these things?

Looks logical to me, you appear to be in local space, in which case, the pivot represents zero.
