hey guys got an annoying problem i dont know what i did but its like my mouse cursor is off center in max, what i mean is when i go to select a polygon or edge it either wont select as if im not clicking on anything or it would select a completely different edge and polygon (e.g to the left of the one im clicking or above it) same with like using the move tool i can just click the arrows(axis) i have to move my mouse until it thinks im over the axis i want. i asked on a reddit and got no where

If you haven't already figured this out, save your work and Reset Max and see if mouse behavior is restored to normal in a fresh scene.  From time to time I get similar bugs creeping in where I can no longer select vertices on any mesh in a scene all of a sudden.  Usually "Reset", or sometimes exiting and then restarting max sets things back to normal.

Yep I tried this pretty much started to happen after I finished the model and started uving about half way through  it started become a pain to select uvs and when I wanted to edit the model what I described above started to happen if I start on a new scene it's fine I tried exiting and reopen tried reset it doesn't change anything

Yep, I have had something similar happen to me.  What I have found is that converting the mesh to an Editable mesh and then back to an editable poly seems to often fix the problem for me.   You may have also seen suggestions on forums to export as an .obj and then re-import which works sometimes also.  Interestingly, the export and re-import to .obj results in converting the object to an editable mesh unless you specifically check "import as Editable poly" in the import dialogue.  In any case, try the conversion to an editable mesh and see if that works for you.

Also, going into subobject mode in the editable poly and "Unhiding All" will reveal any hidden vertices/polys which may have been created during the modeling process and can affect viewport selection.   So do that first if you haven't already and then you can put an edit mesh modifier on the stack (or just convert to editable mesh if you don't have a stack you want to preserve) and see if you are able to select the verts.   (Note: You can also Unhide vertices and polys from within the Edit Mesh modifier. )
