Unaligned Projection

Hi, I'm very very beginner student at 3D modeling and I need to complete an Unwrap UVW assignment. However, I chose the polygons that I want to project and unwrap, and I choose cylinder projection and I click "Fit", and "Center" but it's not aligned. How can I solve this problem? I just want cover the pot, not with the other part.

Second question: Also, can someone tell me how can I get rid of those green lines?

• Those green lines show you the seams/outer borders of your UVs. You can turn them off using the Unwrap UVW > Configure > Map Seams checkbox in the Unwrap UVW modifier
• For fitting the UV cylinder to a subset of faces, this has worked for me:
  1. Add Unwrap UVW
  2. Switch to "Polygon" sub-object mode
  3. Double-click on several faces to select entire elements, while holding down Ctrl to "add" to the existing selection
  4. With all the required faces selected, go to the "Projection" rollout and click on the "Cylindrical Map" button, then click on the "Fit" button right below
