Texture on Custom Leaves gets scrambled when exporting.

I've attempted to make my own tree with its own handdrawn leaves. This is what is occurring when i import it to UE4.

And here is what it looks like in Max;

And here is with just one Plane that seemed to work fineDesktop 6-20-2016 5-08-49 PM-588.jpg

Can anyone offer any guidance to what might be happening? Thanks

SO it looks like when I am exporting my plane for the leaf texture, I am having the issue. Below on left is a plane exported with the texture on it that does not have any length or width segments added, The right is a plane with segments. I have tried a bunch of things and can't figure out what I am doing wrong or missing. I'd really love some help. Thanks

Its hard to tell since you didn't include the textures in the download. Just by looking at the model and the material (without maps) I don't see any red flags.

I'm not really familiar with UE4, but as which file-type are you exporting?

The engine I use has problems with Collada files when I export them as Editable Poly (messing up the mapping and/or the triangulation,

so I have to convert my models to Editable Mesh and they import fine.

You could give that a go, or may turn on triangulate or use a different file-type as your export.

Thanks for checking and replying!

So it looks like when I 'convert to editable poly" causes the issue. It works fine when I "convert to editable mesh" and it exports/imports without scrambling.

For the life of me I have know idea why as I never convert anything to mesh. Can anyone offer an explanation for sake of learning?

Thanks

Hi. In the exporting process for most formats, editable polys are automatically converted to "mesh", and sometimes this process goes wrong. Therefore it is a common used method to manually converting your objects to mesh before export. This way you have better control over the result of converting to mesh, and can correct any errors.

Cant give you any theoretical explanation, but that's how it is 🙂

Hope it helps
