Spline to Editable Poly - Not Working

Well i think all spline are closed,,, i checked Visually,,, but i dont know is there any way to run a check command by CPU?? and how to close if there was one of them open?

i took a shape from bumper to make a poly from it and give it extrude for specific thickness and re attach it to bumper... because the shell command freaks out after few extra "mm" ....

so after i took the shape and i try to make it Editable Poly it Dis-appears... what is the solution for that?

The spline you are try to convert to an editable poly is very complex with an excessive number of vertices.  The inclusion of islands does not help.

Try handling the islands separately and working with half of the geometry (I assume the shape is symmetric).  I used this approach in a quick test for the following.

Well , Thank you Mr Lee but i still dont understand the word or the Technique "The Inclusion of Islands" since i'm not a Prof Designer,,, im just amature fan of 3D....

Anyway if i have the Original Shape already filled i wanted to give it Internal thickness as much as i want without damaging it ,,, i'm wanting to understand all that to reach that point... because the shell command plays and damages the outer toplolgy after cpl more "mm".

so i'd be happy if you can help me with my Example File ,,, the whole bumper is available  , i want to give it Internal thickness of 10 mm or more without damaging the outer topology....

can you help? i'd love a file from you with that new shell with all modifiers u used so i can anaylize what you have done exactly after your explaination....

When you have a closed boundary that has another closed boundary within it the interior boundary is consider an island.  Picture a lake with an island in it.   The shoreline of the lake is the outer boundary and the shoreline of the island is the inner boundary.

The last model you posted looks pretty good!  I cannot help you with modeling a car body.  There are many tutorials on the web or consider starting a new thread with a more descriptive subject title.  E.g., need help modeling a car body.

Sorry I cannot help you further.

Good luck.
