Slice with existing plane

Is there a way to slice a subobject poly based on another poly? The slice tool is BS. I need to place it, slice the poly than move/clean up the resulting edge to where I need it. I've tried aligning the slice plane with an existing plane without luck. Autocad has a solid modeling tool where you pick 3 points, something like that would be great. I'm cleaning up walls. Thanks.

Well, there are Maxscripts which can be used for this purpose.  Not sure exactly what you are finding incorrect about the native slice plane, as opposed to just slicing with an object plane, but perhaps try this...

There are other slicing scripts too, if that one isn't sufficient.
