Problem with ergonomy

I have a tendency to tendonitis, so... i've never enjoyed the controls in 3ds max. The click and drag movement done for hours hurt my wrist, even with a few days of work it becomes really painful.

Modeling in 3ds was never gonna work for me, so i've tried blender and the ergonomics there is amazing, the work can be distributed in both hands quite equally, the transform keys + axis lock is incredible. For example, you can press G to move (or grab) + X (for lock in the desirable axis) + 2 (for distance in desirable unit) + enter (to confirm it) and that's it, the object is moved without any clicking in the mouse.

I work with archviz and this workflow is faster and solve my problem, 3 years modeling in blender and no pain at all. But now i am in need for a switch to a better render engine, such as v-ray or corona, and i need to get my blender model in 3ds max for rendering. As the world is not perfect, i'll always need to make adjustments and changes in 3ds max, sometimes will not be an easy work and the wrist pain will come back.

Someone knows a way for me to get a better setup for modeling in 3ds Max? Some changes to reduce the amount of click and drag in transforming objects, faces, etc, maybe a way to lock the moving axis without the need to use a mouse, i don't know, something..

I see the benefits of the blender input method in your case - to me (in contrast) it feels like operating a steam engine.
Maybe a different input device can serve your needs - some specialized mice / mice-like things like these.

My point is that blender have some alternatives, you can use the gizmo like 3ds max or mix this method with something else and have something your own. I have a MX Vertical and i use this method, but with a dedicated button in my thumb rest to lock axis, the same button i use for navigation. For me the click and drag thing is much more comfortable if i do it with my thumb.

These mice can be helpful, but only with navigation and that's alright to me. What i'll try to do is custom my second thumb rest button to left click, maybe this will help.

Thank you !!
