Object Naming For Export

I've tried to find a solution to this but haven't been able to so far - and not certain if I'm even searching correctly.

I've been working on a model and wanted to export it to DAZ. It comes out fine but the names I want for the parts aren't showing in DAZ.

Example:

I'm wondering if there's something I need to do in 3ds Max to get the parts names to come out the way I want - preferably without having to manually change the OBJ file - instead of that "wire_#########"? I've tried exporting with "Use Material" unchecked but DAZ just shows "Default" in the Surfaces tab.

I'd appreciate any help with this. Thanks in advance!

I just downloaded Daz, and realized, that the objects must be named by applying Materials to those objects within 3DS Max. As for having the name "Wire#######", it's because it doesn't have a material applied to it inside 3DS Max. And also make sure that you export a non primitive object. eg; Editable poly or Mesh. I exported two primitive objects such as "Line (renderable in 3DS Max)" and a Primitive "Box"

I am not a DAZ user but, this worked for me when I tested. See the attachment for a clear picture.

Worked like a charm! MANY THANKS!!! Smiley Happy

I've never messed with the materials in 3ds Max so never realized this had any effect outside of it.
