There is a model of a figurine; you need to make a uniform frame of two parts on top of the model.
After printing the figurine and frame, we place the figurine inside and fill it with silicone. We get a silicone mold for filling with anything.
How to do it?
I tried to put Shell on the figurine, but the quality was not the same.

Make sure the figurine model is 'manifold' meaning that it has no holes or flaws. Max has a couple of tools for checking it, 'STL Check' and 'Mesh Cleaner.' Once you have a good figurine make a box big enough to surround the whole figurine.

Next, put the figurine inside the box and leave the sprue sticking out the side. Use 'ProBoolean' or 'Boolean' to subtract the figurine from the box. If one boolean tool fails, try the other one.

Last, put a 'Slice' modifier in the middle of the box splitting the Sprue hole. Choose 'Remove Negative' (or 'Remove Positive') and aslo tic 'Cap' on. You should be left with a nice volume.
