Hello, can sombody tell how to convert a .max model to .3ds model?

i made a plane but i wanna make a .mdl from it. So i get the SDK's for makeing the mdl.

First the model must to go to .x (something with DirectX) then to mdl.

i can't convert my model to .x directly. i tried a plug-in but there was only a .dle file without saying where the .dle file must to go.

(Link to plugin)

can sombody help?

thanks

It tells you quite clearly on the page you linked what to do with the .dle.
Unzip and extract the .dle file, place in the 'Plugins' sub-directory under the main 3dsmax folder. Backup and remove any previous versions.

It won't. There's no download for 2014, only for versions up to and including 2012. Plugins have to be recompiled with the correct compiler for each version of Max, they are not interchangeable.

You mean how to export an object as a .3ds file? Select the object, App Menu > Export > Export Selected. Change the Save as Type (lower drop-down list) to "3D Studio (*.3DS)", give it a name and click Save.
As for .x files, have you tried google? There's bound to be software out there for converting to/from .x files.
