Help to UV unwrap multiple parts of a single object AS one object

As you can see by the picture, I've broken my barrel up into multiple pieces, each plank breaks apart into several pieces. I didn't UV unwrap before cutting it into sections, because I would assume it would have worked, but in retrospect maybe I should have.

If I want to be able to apply a wood texture to the entire thing (so the textures line up from piece to piece) what would the best course of action be? Thanks

Yes, you should have done that before. But there are several things you can try:

1. Place the pieces back to barrel-shape and apply a cylindrical UVWMap.
2. Prepare an easy-to-unwrap-version of the barrel (maybe you still have the un-cut geometry?), unwrap that one and transfer the UVs to the cut one by copying/pasting the UnwrapUVW-modifier or by using the Projection-modifier.

I actually do have the original barrel before the cuts, that's going to be what i try first, thanks!
