Export VertexPaint to Texture?

Hey Guys,

I'm very new to 3DSMax-Studio and watched some tutorials.

Right now, I created a Terrain with VertexPainted Materials (Screenshot).

Unfortunately, I don't know how I can export the created Terrain-Texture for Unity and Unity for Nintendo 3DS does not support VertexPainting, only Textures.

Is there a way to export the created Terrain + VertexPainting to an FBX-Model + Texture?

If yes, how?

(sorry, english isn't my native language)

If you applied vertex colors with Vertex Color Modifier you can bake them into diffuse texture. Open the Vertex Color Modifier and check the Assign Vertex Colors rollout. However I am not sure you will be able to maintain the details of the textures within texture of a reasonable size. I'd recommend asking this question on Unity forums.

On the side it's also it's a bit strange to hear that some portables don't support vertex colors.

Make sure that's not the case of getting the right shader that will support vertex color.

Cheers,

Stan
