Difficulty following tutorials

I'm new and following tutes for the most basic editing procedures. Generally the tutes show how things aare done but its almost impossible to follow the pointer as it darts about the screen selecting various functions.Can anyone point me to some tutes where various tools are and how they are accessed is clearly demonstrated.
