Aligning Edges to average

Hi there,

is there an easy way to align faces on the average between the outer vertices of it so that it is exactly averaged between them on upper and lower side?

your question seems straigtforward, but I can't relate to your attached image.  

To align a faces to the center of another face, first make sure the pivots are centered, then use the align tool to place the center of one either on or on an axis through the center of the other.

I try to be more precice. I want the edges inside my mesh aligned to the average length between the corresponding vertices. Let me know if you want me to draw an image.
