Cinema 4d has volume modeling now. When will we see this feature? I hope not in 10 years like it took for liquids. max is now very behind with SFX unlike Houdini, Cinema etc
Every year I feel that by using 3DS max I am falling behind. I see software like C4D adding this type of new modeling technics and other software like Blender with its EEVEE real-time rendering and visualization and I wonder if I should just abandon ship. I love 3DS max but it has been a looong time since I got excited by one of their updates. And this type of lacking with their uncompetitive price is not justifiable.
Same here. They need to step up their game. I saw what Houdini 17 can do 😞 Unfortunately switching to a new software is too much work (new plugins, relearning software etc )
I hope you guys are not implementing this volume modeling because of this post and were planning to introduce it soon even without this post. All your competitors already have this feature.
Max is alive just because of the huge plugin support, else really nothing innovating autodesk is doing.
It used to be laggy, crashing and it's 2020 still slow and crashes often. I was so much surprised to see Cinema4d has so many good tools, each tool has some extra option to make life easier and it has never crashed. I just started with c4d, hope to switch in the coming future.
