Stop adding new features - focus on bug fixes and on performance improvements

After 16 years of using 3dsmax, I'm one of these users being tired of new features race, instead of making 3dsmax rock-stable and fast in ALL areas.

Thanks.

@Wolf-Man that's 3ds max 2018. I don't have this issue, stop finding glitches from people who installed  ton of plugins and making this videos.  If you can reproduce then show your own video how to reproduce this, this normal procedure of bug reporting!

Just because you don't have this issue doesn't mean others don't - I don't want to have to re-install to vanilla 3ds max 2019 just to upload a problem that is illustrated so obviously and has effected many. Why should I have to go through all that just to report a bug that you know is there? I've reported it as have others. Please fix it.

Because most of bugs user creating yourself, also many plugins can do this, i learned this long years ago, how bugs from plugins what you install autodesk can fix it?

Autodesk has been made aware of the issue and it's up to them to fix it now. There is no way I'm spending the time to reinstall everything - just to take a 30 second screen recording of what has already been shown. Even if I do, the next thing you'll be asking to re-install windows then install it on another computer. The point has been made.

I never get this kind of resistance when error reporting to Chaos Group - They jump right on it. This is very unprofessional. You have the video's and descriptions.

That's what i am told you if you know how other works, video is not bug reporting, you need to send steps to reporduce it, logs, max files etc.

I know how plugins can freeze whole pc, not long ago girl send me scene for rendering she just insert objects in old scene from vray and  it freeze even farms,  i have screen of death, and it rendering very slow. So how you can blame in this autodesk?

Hi again everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that we have watched the video showing the lags, and we are aware of a small number of users reporting this problem. Unfortunately, so far we have not been able to reproduce the lag in-house.

Some users have reported slowdowns like this after some windows 10 updates and potential GPU driver corruption during the process. We are not ignoring your reports, but sometimes quite a bit of investigation is required to pin-point the cause of the problem.

We encourage anyone encountering this type of lag to report it to our support team who will guide you regarding the information that you can collect that may allow us to reconstruct a recurring pattern in environment configuration, workload, etc.

To contact support:

  1. Log into your Autodesk Account.
  2. In the upper right-hand corner choose: Support > Contact Us > Technical Support, and select Email.

It was really, really horrible from about 2011 to 2017, but it feels like Max is getting more stable with each release and there are a few things that have noticably been overhauled, even if they're small, it makes a difference when you're using it for 10 hours a day! 🙂

I agree that it has been a bit more stable. Only took them 24 years. Too bad they revoked my right to pay to maintain my perpetual license after being a loyal paying customer since 2007. (professional user since 1998)

Subscribe or die is a terrible way to treat long time users, stable or not.

I'm no longer a paying customer. Enough is enough.
