This would actually be very useful. When I map UVs I tend to use the side of an object that will be most visible, and try to force distortions to the sides where they are less likely noticeable. For inorganic objects I usually start with a Flatten Mapping and keep as much of the most visible side undistorted, then I break the other parts into individual pieces and make them completely undistorted with the Relax Tool. Then I stitch everything along the UV borders of the initial UV.
However it also means I have to manually stitch a lot of individual pieces along loops, and being able to stitch all individual pieces along such loops in one click would be a real time saver.
Tried to make a script of my own that produce such feature by looping through an edge selection together with the stitch tool, but realized that for each stitch you do the edge index is rebuilt and the result will be a mess. Perhaps it's possible to figure out the change for each new stitch, but It would indeed be very handy to have this feature as a standard tool.
