Show Shaded UVs

Show Shaded UVs

Such as in Mayas UV Editor, I suggest adding a button in 3ds Max UV Unwrap so that we can see in blue and red the flipped and non flipped UVs. Yes I know there is an alternative way of doing this but it isn't as easy as just pressing a button and having it displayed in the editor. This was one of the main features i liked about Mayas UV Editor as I would always have overlapping uvs sharing the same uv space, and for baking high to low I would need to offset the flipped uvs by 1. In Maya with this feature it is easy to distinguish what needs to be offset and what doesn't, it is the opposite in 3ds Max. I really hope this feature is added in the future as I have spoken to a few people who would like this feature just as much as myself, and im sure it wouldnt be hard to implement.

aswell as this, an option to Vertically and Horizontally unwrap such as in Maya would be nice.

Hay Stephen,

I just watched that video and that is area distortion, the amount of distortion on the uvs . Yes it shows up blue and red in the same fashion but I am talking about flipped UVs. When you mirror a mesh in max the uvs go inside out (flipped) but remain the same as the non flipped mesh, you are unable to see this unless you remember mirroring a mesh or actually move the uvs to discover there is a shell hiding underneath, but most of the time (for me) I want the uv shells to remain in the same UV space but to be offset by 1 for baking purposes. I know that there is a way of viewing flipped uvs already but I think it is rendering out the uv space to discover it on an image, this is just terrible, furthermore I think there is an option to view overlapping uvs but half of the time (for me) it doesnt work properly. Hope that made sense, was eating food 😛

This is a must for high/low bake workflow. As it is even the 'show flipped faces' is broken in 2018. It just seems to display random faces that are NOT flipped.

Also, like Modo where the island colour changes dynamically as they overlap. And it would be nice to have a distortion heat map like Headus.
