Max needs a robust set of sculpting tools, actual sculpting tools are not enough,

especially now that Mudbox is discontinued,

all the tools and functionality should be added to Max,

including the automatic retopo and some sort of Dynamesh.

 

this is also a good tool to add deformation refinement for skin and morph...

hate to find so many reasons to switch  to maya. Pls add the Mudbox sculpting tools !

Cinema4D has a pretty good sculpting module, btw. 

 

It's sculpting brush tool supports snapping (on curves), too. Splines as brush guides, so to speak. Priceless when you need to sculpt straight lines / tense curves.

I used it a lot for modelling seams of furniture models (the curves were created from mesh edges first).

Time to revamp the Paint Deform Tool in 3dsmax, replace it with Mudbox sculpt tool that would be great.

Hi, 

 

I couldn't agree more. One issue I would like to point out with the current toolset is the shift brush behavior. The brush projects through the entire model in screen space. This behavior makes the shift tool affect unwanted areas in cases where there is overlapping geometry behind.

So many people think like you, in fact, nowadays Blender is better than 3DS Max for modeling (I have test it) and ...it's free.
I will like to know what are thinking the CEO's of Autodesk, what direcction is taken the 3DMax, I really worry about the future of 3DMax, because if 3DMax is only using for Arquitecture, soon 3DMax will die, that's for sure.
I'm specialist in animation and also 3dMax must make big changes in animation, again Blender is doing very well in this part, having his menu and UI for animation.
Right now Blender is just one step behind of 3DMax, but if 3DMax do nothing the next two years, I can tell you for sure that Blender overcome 3DMax in all areas.

Edit: By the way, CEO of Autodesk must think like an artist and not like a business man.

That is seem to be a hard task due to 3 years struggling after they announced MudBox for Maya but steel no any update for that...

I think instead of a full sculpting Mode or tool, it's much more believable and doable for Autodeck to add a Zsphere like tools to max, and freeform brushes is good enough to work with for now...

Crazy times when a Free software is delivering more. If I need to learn a new tool for sure I'll learn blender next. (Time is coming)

Future consideration this was brought up in 2017 - its now nearly 2020 and still no news?
Move to blender man this is a waste of time.

Can you clarify? Are you asking to include the Mudbox application with your Max subscription? Or are you asking to port the tools from Mudbox into Max directly?

@shawnolsonWould be nice extend Max's sculpting tools with Mudbox brushes and speed up it. Also Viewport Canvas is very outdated and should be replaced.
Anyway, Mudbox development it seems stopped so it make it useless as separate tool.

If file Filename is too long Path Tool program deletes, copies and renames long path files/folders.

face any problem Long Path Tool program can help you to deletes, copies and renames long path files/folders.

modeling tools in 3ds max need to a revolutionary  update  if he want to keep his situation in 3d publics

its shamefull for 3ds max that a software with 135 mb size(blender) have a lot of sculpting tools but 3ds max use a old brush
+
if you keep your updating like this i sure last age of 3ds max come in soon and it is not marked that Customers that leave 3ds max choose maya(for example if i leave max i select blender)
and finally if i was boss of r&d group of 3ds max............(its a long story)
