Select by name (opens 'select from scene' window) no longer highlights objects already selected in the scene. This was really useful feature, and it makes no sense that this has been removed.
I am aware that you can use the 'layer explorer' and 'scene explorer' to perfrom something similar, but in certain instances the select by name is more appropriate.
