Old Layer Manager option

Please make the old layer dialog with a list as an option again (do not need to be part of the already integrated new layer system). 
(And yes; I'm aware of the one with integrated dropdown menu)

The new layer system is a real slowdown for me as i do lots of optimizing with heavy scenes/DAK/CAD data.

Going to Archive this, but would really like to hear a continued discussion based on @michael_spaw inquiry. Honestly, we're not going to be able to bring back the older one, but would like to know how we can make the current one faster or possibly more simple.

Removing something I've used for over a decade is not the way to go.

Of Topic:

Another thing is when I am selecting polys when working in 3ds max 2017, it takes ages on many of our models as i have to rotate around to get able to select edges/polys... I'm on my way away from 3ds max as the program is slowing me down more and more in my daily work.

Good luck with the development of the program (hopfully your team will focus on bugfixing for a couple of years, and i might go back)
