Please, please can the devs stop f**king around with Stingray and adopt a serious integration/bridge to UE4 instead. UE4 is evolving at a staggering pace and is top of the pack in game dev.
Max used to be the DCC of cgoice in the games industry, but now it is hopelessly outdated in comparison to what the likes of Modo/blender(and even Houdini) are doing in an strong attempt to appeal to the games industry.
Things like a modern MikkT map baker. A PBR environment viewport. Native UE4 material. Static/animation mesh/texture export to an engine like UE4 could put Max ahead again in the eyes of the games industry.
And not just export, but a live bridge that would communicate with CAT, for instance, or even a brand new rigging system based solely on the UE4 mannequin skeleton.
I realise that Stingray is aimed squarely at the Arch-Vis crowd and is not taken seriously at all by the games industry, but considering how big/profitable the games industry is I find it a huge missed opportunity could be capitalised on. So, come on devs! Get Max back up there where it belongs. Just like the old days when it was king of the games hill.
