best learning experience for my mind- is series of video tutorials (not little help internet page or hard to undestand sample, and also not 2-3 very basic video tutorials, but 20-30 detailed videos, covering one topic from basic to experience). Of course i dont talk about something simple like uv(max uv is just poor at moment) and modeling (but todays actual modeling technics should also be presented - booleans, geometry and shading projections),, but there are very powerful tools inside max that almost nobody knows how to use:
