Backburner should work over VPN.

Or any other type of networks.
These days world wide networks are easy to create.

It should be as easy to connect backburner servers/managers as it is to define a unique ID.

Look at torrent technology for inspiration.

I should not need a network specialist to get machines to connect over the internet. Just like I dont need a math specialist to create 3d.
