It’s quite hard to select Quad submenus items. Make them as normal submenus

When trying to select a submenu item in a Quad we need to carefully follow the highlight menu and then select the submenu. If in any moment we move the mouse out of the path it will highlight another menu entry and will close the submenu. This feels buggy and is compounded by the fact the quads are smaller and are used for quick selections. A submenu item selection should behave as the current main top menus in Max. There is a small delay that makes moving the pointer outside not a penalty or a frustrating experience as the quads.

When the submenu is just the nearer one to the menu we could not see the problem. But if the submenu entry we try to use is far on the main menu entry it will close nearly always.

I consider the current quad menus both great and broken. They offer a great functionality but his implementation is flawed because this problem. It is only practical to access to the menus, not the submenus.

Good thing that the quad menus has independent font size from other part of MAX's UI. Enlarging it mostly compensate problems with sub menus that you described.
I fear to vote in this idea because every time that dev trying improve UI they mostly breaking it more.

I'm not asking enlarging it:

I understand what you asking for. I just say that can be another way to avoid this problem by enlarging menus.
If delay would be badly implemented it can cause slowdown for all quads, that was I fear.

It doesn't create a slowdown in  the top menus from practical point of view. It is a standard solution. It only should affect the submenus, not the menus. It would avoid failing when trying to access to submenus that forces to try several times.

If we are just talking about a small delay, similar to what we have in the main menus, this sounds like its totally actionable! Thank you for this idea, I'll take a look and report back.

It probably needs a bit of redesign in Style and when that will happen this should be fixed

bumping this so hard
