I personally would also like to see support for color swatch sets, like in photoshop - makes it easy to just click a swatch instead of fiddling and tweaking a dozen sliders all the time. Also like photoshop, make them a loadable/saveable asset.
Maya has a better color picker. They should just share the same. Today most of tools are working in PBR and them using 0-1, in Maya you can choose the type of picker you want (values-wise). And this is much better for making tools that work the same on more than one app, or translating shaders from Maya<>Max.
In many software nowadays it is common practice to be able to set the desired color by pasting in its hex code. My request would be to add this functionality to 3ds Max's Color Selector as well. There is a classic max plugin called Cool Picker that expands the default colour picker, but it does not have a hex field, nor colour temperature. I think the default colour picker needs to be updated in this regard. Relying on plugins is always a bit risky.
I always loved 3dsmax color picker for his ability to pick outside of 3dsmax window, I mean you can pick anywhere on your desk, it still working. With photoshop for instance you can only pick inside photoshop document.
But there is an issue : when you are using multi screen configuration, and your main screen is, for instance, a 4K monitor with a 125% DPI window scaling applied, if the other monitors are set @100% the color picker is not working anymore on those screens , it pick somewhere else, the coordonates where it pick seems slided somewhere else.
I think this should be implemented soon! How difficult could it be? It would be low hanging fruit for the 3dsmax team to get this minor quality of life improvement into Max, right!?
Hmm, I just became aware of the Corona improved color picker! It kind of makes this request redundant. I have Corona installed because it allows me to convert Corona scenes to V-ray even without a license for rendering with Corona! But remember to get your vaccine before you install it! 🤒
I miss my LW color picker. Has color schemes, rgb, hsv, temp, hex, pick from image, pick from screen, a library of shades with import/export, palette customization, float, etc.

This is one of my favorite bugs. this superb effect happens if while dragging the slider, machine starts 'thinking' or saving. The slider visually runs out of range (outside of the whole box...) Once it happens, If I don't close it immeditately (cancel) max will crash-disappear.
