improve chamfer modifier

Chamfer mod is very useful but I want better topology like this.

In addition, sometime it makes strange UV like this kind of unnecessary connection. Please fix it.

・Better topology with Ngon solver
I want good topology and Ngon solver like this script

・Edit chamfer function
Usually, I use chamfer mods for make detail lines of sci-fi metal plate.
I need additional edge chamfer operations like Extrude, Push, Bevel spline, Mesh placement and so on.
(Quad Chamfer plugin has some "Edit Chamfer" function)
It would be great if modifier integrated into the MCG (or Data Ch mod?) then we can modify function.

 

・Change chamfer amount by data channel.
I wanna change chamfer amount by specified value.
For example, Crease, Weight or Custom Attribute value. (Attributes should be included in the polygon geometry)

 

・Link with boolean operation
I wanna use Chamfer mod with boolean like CAD or modo's MeshFusion

Anything you can do to point to specific functionality or workflow is helpful. we may not catch something that really speaks to you co images, or step by steps are a great addition to just pointing us at a tool.

+1 for the ability to control the Amount of the Chamfer with the Weight of the edge, so that every edge is chamfered with Amount equal to its weight value.

The behaviour of the chamfer when more than 2 edges meet on the border of smoothing groups can also be changed for good:

The geometry that we have after chamfer in such situations is not clean and produce glitches when rendered.
Instead of producing this fractals inside the chamfered edge, better will be to replace the common vertice with two vertices in each side of the chamfered edge and then flow connect them as shown on the picture.

Both mentioned functionalities exist in the plugin Quad Chamfer modifier, will be great to have them built-in.

I second this.

Mayas bevel tool, with the recent addition of the custom mitring options, has made Mayas bevel tool the best i've ever used.

I'd love to see the chamfer tool receive similar options to Mayas bevel tool.
