Hotkeys with multiple letters

Hotkeys with multiple letters

Cad,Revit, Rhino, Archicad, Blender..these all have 2 letter hotkeys available. Yes ctrl or alt alternatives are available in Max, but they are far from ideal. Being the dirty legacy alternative of industry standards, and software autodesk bought to kill in its crib Max has metastasized to provide the worst UI on the market.  It, more than any other autodesk product, would require flexible hotkeys. So who the f^%ck  thought it would be a good idea to limit the hotkey options?

Additional hotkey flexibility would be a significant boon to those that use max for their entire pipeline. It is a MUST for those that use max as a small part of a larger pipeline: for those that need to set a hotkey strategy, not just to optimize Max, but to optimize several different software packages in tandem.  Whereas a command might be XY in Cad, or Rhino, it now becomes alt_X in 3ds. More importantly, single digit commands can no longer match as there aren't enough to go around.  Autodesk, pls do this, it would be an easy fix, that would go a long way to help people cope with all the issues inherent to Max.

You can have multikey commands in max, for example VK is viewport->back.

I'd like to see a close eye on the votes for this topic. I would disagree with your statement that it would an "easy fix", because nothing comes without a cost, but if there is enough community support I would be more than happy to support planning this for a future release or an early prototype...

I wouldn't mind if it was just a quick plugin/prototype.

2 Years later, a fancy new hotkey interface and yet no 2 letter hotkeys. WTF?!!! Are you serious? Why did you even create the new hotkey interface if you weren't going to allow new hotkeys in the first place?  Every piece of software allows for 2 letter hotkeys at minimum. Not doing this makes them almost useless. This level of stupidity boggles the mind.
