Cad,Revit, Rhino, Archicad, Blender..these all have 2 letter hotkeys available. Yes ctrl or alt alternatives are available in Max, but they are far from ideal. Being the dirty legacy alternative of industry standards, and software autodesk bought to kill in its crib Max has metastasized to provide the worst UI on the market. It, more than any other autodesk product, would require flexible hotkeys. So who the f^%ck thought it would be a good idea to limit the hotkey options?
Additional hotkey flexibility would be a significant boon to those that use max for their entire pipeline. It is a MUST for those that use max as a small part of a larger pipeline: for those that need to set a hotkey strategy, not just to optimize Max, but to optimize several different software packages in tandem. Whereas a command might be XY in Cad, or Rhino, it now becomes alt_X in 3ds. More importantly, single digit commands can no longer match as there aren't enough to go around. Autodesk, pls do this, it would be an easy fix, that would go a long way to help people cope with all the issues inherent to Max.
